October is the off Season for Kite Boarding in Aruba, but it can still be windy. My favorite part is the warm water, hot sunshine and the people. To avoid a serious sun burn a quality “Sunblock” is a must. A powerful Offshore wind mixed with a serious highrise hotel wind block creates a challenging water field. So if you get into trouble (equipment trouble) or need assistance returning to shore hopefully a rescue boat sees you and picks you up. Most likely you will have no hesitation paying the $20 fee.
It was a pleasant surprise to hear and see waves on the windward unpopulated side. A local Dutch kiter spoke of a nice smooth over head wave hitting the coast near California lighthouse. All in all the offshore wind, warm torqoise blue water, and hot sunshine make a rewarding kite session for all levels.
